WHAT IS DRY EYE?
One of the most common causes of DED is Meibomian gland dysfunction. Our Meibomian glands are oil glands found inside our eyelids that provide oil that sits on top of our tears and prevents them from evaporating. However, due to our climate (wind, dryness, high heat and cold), age, hormonal changes (women>men), medications (Accutane) and significant computer use, this can lead to those glands becoming blocked up. The oil becomes thicker/almost tooth paste like. As a result, less oil gets to the tears, and they evaporate at a quicker rate. This then leads to dry eyes, which in turn leads to inflammation and even more dryness.

The TempSure Envi is a radiofrequency (RF) treatment that safely and effectively treats baggy and dry eyes for a smoother health appearance. After treatment you will notice a slight amount of redness, but it fades quickly, No downtime!
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The Tempsure Envi uses radiofrequency (RF) to stimulate the clogged tear glands. Also, by delivering radiofrequency (RF) gently heats up the skin trigging the body’s natural reactions to produce new collagen. The new collagen fibers are tighter and denser. As a result, excess skin is reduced on the eyelids.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT?
When you come in for the dry eye consultation at Stewart Optical Dr. Glass will do a Dry Eye examination to ensure you are a good candidate for the treatment.
